Table of Content

Kaizen Steel Industries is known for maintaining high quality in the production of Socket Weld Crosses. They follow international standards to guarantee both quality and competitive pricing for their clients.

A Stainless Steel Socket Weld Cross is a fitting that creates a 90° branch from the main pipe run. An ANSI B16.11 Forged Socket Weld Cross has four openings placed at right angles to each other. This fitting may have either three inlets and one outlet, or one inlet and three outlets, but it does not control flow directly due to its design.

Kaizen Steel Industries consistently innovates and maintains quality to build a strong customer base. As trusted suppliers and exporters, they use high-quality raw materials to ensure the best products.

Socket Weld Pipe Fittings, such as the Socket Weld Cross, are forged products. These fittings are classified based on their pressure-temperature ratings. Typically, Forged Equal Cross 3000lb Socket Weld fittings are available in sizes ranging from NPS 1/8 inch to 4 inches.

ASME B16.11 Socket Weld Cross fittings come in three pressure-temperature rating classes:

  • 3000 & 6000 Class: Available in both threaded and socket weld types, including Stainless Steel Socket Weld Cross fittings.
  • 9000 Class: Available only in socket weld type fittings. We have a stock of Class 9000 Socket Weld Forged Equal Cross fittings.

Socket fittings, like the ASME B16.11 Socket Weld Cross, are used in applications requiring small bore and low-pressure piping. The dimensions of these fittings are designed to handle smaller pipe sizes.

The Forged Socket Weld Equal Cross, also known as a four-way fitting or cross branch line, can have one inlet and three outlets, or the configuration can be reversed. These fittings often have either solvent-welded sockets or female-threaded ends. SS 310 Socket Weld Cross fittings can experience stress due to temperature changes because they are located at the center of four connection points. A tee fitting is generally more stable than a cross fitting. This is because a tee acts like a three-legged stool, which is more stable, while a cross behaves like a four-legged stool, which can be less stable and prone to physical stress.

B16.11 Socket Weld Cross fittings are commonly used in fire sprinkler systems. In this application, thermal expansion stress is usually not a major concern. However, the Socket Weld Cross is less common in plumbing compared to a single tee fitting, which can be more cost-effective than using two tee fittings.
