ASME B16.11 Threaded Cross is a type of pipe fitting where four pipes meet at a single point, also known as a four-way fitting. Most Stainless Steel Threaded Crosses have female threads and are connected to male threaded pipes. The dimensions of the threaded cross are based on the sizes of the connecting pipes, standards, and other specifications.
Threaded cross fittings can be either equal or unequal. The dimensions for an Equal Cross are determined mainly by the size of the connecting pipes. In contrast, the dimensions for an Unequal Cross are more complex.
The ASME B16.11 Threaded Cross Pipe Fitting standard covers tolerances, ratings, dimensions, marking, and material requirements for both socket-weld and threaded forged fittings. These fittings are classified into:
The ASME B16.11 standard for stainless steel threaded crosses should be used alongside other ASME B16 series standards to ensure compatibility and compliance with the equipment.
The ASTM A182 SS Threaded Cross specification covers forged or rolled alloy and stainless steel pipe flanges, fittings, and valves. This type of cross is designed for high-temperature applications. After hot working, the forged threaded cross must be cooled to a specific temperature before heat treatment. This process involves careful control of heat treatment, including austenitizing or solution temperatures, cooling media, and quenching.
The materials used for making a threaded cross fitting must meet certain chemical compositions, including elements like phosphorus, silicon, nickel, carbon, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, columbium, and titanium. The material must also meet mechanical property requirements for the grade ordered, such as yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, and Brinell hardness. Additionally, all H grades and grade F 63 for threaded crosses must be tested for average grain size.
Kaizen Steel Industries manufacture & supply Threaded Crosses according to ASME B16.11 and BS 3799 standards. These standards cover pressure-temperature ratings, dimensions, marking, tolerances, and material requirements. We specialize in supplying Threaded Crosses in three pressure ratings: Class 2000, Class 3000, and Class 6000, all available at competitive prices in India. Please refer to the Threaded Pipe Cross Dimensions Chart before making a purchase.
