A Reducing Screwed Hex Nipple 3000LB Threaded is a pipe fitting that consists of a short hex pipe with male threads on both ends, each of a different size. This fitting is used to connect two pipes or components, including Alloy Steel Forged Screwed Hex Nipples and Reducing Nipples, often in water filtration systems.

The ASTM A182 SS Threaded Hex Nipples are available in various grades, including stainless steel types like 304, 304L, 316, 316L, and 904L. In addition to stainless steel, manufacturers produce Screwed Hex Nipples from materials such as carbon steel, brass, copper, aluminum, cupro-nickel, nickel alloys, and alloy steel, in both seamless and welded forms.

This grade can withstand continuous temperatures up to 1150°C and intermittent temperatures up to 1035°C. The 310S version is a low-carbon variant, suitable for situations where the lower carbon content is beneficial.

These fittings are classified into pressure Classes 2000, 3000, and 6000 for threaded ends, and Classes 3000, 6000, and 9000 for socket-weld ends. This standard should be used along with other volumes of the ASME B16 series and ASME standards, such as the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and the B31 Piping Codes.
